Hiring vendors for a wedding is like putting together a puzzle. Each pieceI interlocks with the others to complete the picture.
When they all fit in their places they bring the picture to life –in this case your wedding. Hiring them early is the key. Here is a list of all the important vendors that should be hired at the earliest.
1. Wedding planner:
The ugly side of finding one is that all the really good ones are booked even for the next year. So don’t delay looking for one.
2. Venue:
The venue will play an important role in setting the overall theme of your venue. Expecting to have a vintage-themed party in a modern loft just won’t do.
3. Caterers:
Caterers must be booked at least 4-6 months prior the marriage. We assume, buy then you will have an idea of what you are going to serve in the menu.
4. Photographer and videographer:
The best photographers and videographers should be booked as early as 4 months before the wedding. Delaying may result in their unavailability on your wedding weekend.
5. Makeup and hair stylist:
These should be booked as soon as you know how many of you bridesmaids and family members will be getting their professional makeup and hairstyling done. Many hairstylists and makeup artists are unavailable during peak season as they are dolling up someone else because they booked them first.
6. Florist:
Because there are many choices when it comes to professional florists, hiring them can be delayed until the last few months before the wedding.
7. Transportation:
If you are planning to arrange for DC Limos for your guests, get in touch with respectable bus companies in DC at least 2 months prior your wedding date to check for availability. If your wedding is during peak season, chances are many charter bus rental will already be booked as most of the DC charter buses are hired for destination weddings.
